So, tonight we branched out and decided to try and put Ethan in the bedroom once he fell asleep in my arms instead of in the Rock n Play Sleeper in the living room. Since we weren't ready for bed at 8 PM, we decided to try out the monitor so that we could obsessively stare at him while he was in the room ten feet away from us.
I'm not quite sure how he can go from so asleep in my arms to then being wide awake after I so carefully transport him into the room and place him so delicately into the pack n play. He fidgets, looks like he is going to cry, sometimes cries, and then lulled by his sheep, eventually falls into a deep slumber.
It seems impossible that we feel comfortable with him eventually sleeping in a totally different room though I agree it is necessary. Thankfully we have a few months to get used to this....And until then, we stare at him during our evening hang-out time.
