Ethan's First Hotel Room Experience!

Michael and Ethan joined me at our annual leadership retreat for Uncommon! We drove to Morristown, NJ on Friday morning during the snowstorm. While I spent my days learning about the Common Core, Ethan spent his days mastering the art of screaming in a hotel room. :(  Michael learned the art of wearing him in the Bjorn and walking him in a stroller to sleep--all of the tactics we use when nothing else seems to work. Sadly, E was not necessarily happy to be in a hotel during the day. Maybe this was his way of saying he doesn't like New Jersey, but it's probably suffice to say that he gave Michael a few more gray hairs. Ethan was quite the hit with the Uncommon staff however! Everyone was excited to meet him and even though he was a crankster during the day, he turned on the smiles for everyone! Despite his fussiness during daytime hours, Ethan spent his first night in a hotel room and his evening sleep was a success! In retrospect, perhaps Michael should have taken E to Alison's for the night, but I still wasn't ready to be away from him for the night. At least we know that he can sleep well in a pack n play! Cheers to some progress!
