I still can't believe that five months have passed!
A few new things we've noticed at five months:
- I swear that Ethan knows his name. He turns when I say it (sometimes...) and when he hears it in songs I sing, he smiles. He also likes it when his stuffed animal Scout sings it to him.
- He is drooling even more. A bib is needed so that we don't need to change his outfit every thirty minutes.
- When he wakes up, he starts babbling to himself in the crib. He rarely cries when he gets up and just starts kicking his legs and talking to himself.
- We kind of just stopped doing the stroking to sleep and Ethan has started putting himself to sleep when he's tired! This has been the pattern for everything in Ethan's life--he does things when he wants to--weaning from the shield, sleeping in the crib, putting himself to sleep, etc.
- He has been grabbing things even more. Today he started grasping his other hand which was new. He continues chewing on his fists, but we haven't seen any teeth poking through yet.
- He slept for the first time in a hotel on the pack n play and slept through the night!
- He loves the lion on the activity mat. He looks for his head and smiles at him.
- I fell in love with these shoes when I saw them and sadly they are already too small.
- His hair keeps getting longer and the one little side swoop continues to expand. A little hipster already!
- He loves his jumparoo. From throwing the blocks off and grabbing the flowers, from looking in the mirror to bouncing up and down, he has so much fun in there!
